A new Coordinator has been appointed for the Katsina Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (KT-CARES).
He is Malam Nafiu Muhammad Musa.
His appointment was approved by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda with the aim of re-energiziing the outfit for collective benefits of the good people of Katsina.
Musa’s appointment marks a significant milestone in the state’s commitment to community resilience and driving economic growth.
Malam Musa, a multi-sectorial development professional, brings a wealth of experience to this crucial role.
His extensive background includes managing projects for community organizations, NGOs, development partners, and donor agencies across Nigeria. He is widely recognized for his expertise in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization, and policy strengthening.
An alumnus of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Malam Musa is currently pursuing an MBA in Project Management from the National Institute of Business Management, Kerala, India. His prestigious affiliations include being a Fellow of the Korea Institute of Rural Development, a Member of the International Association for Community Development (IACD), and a Member of the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Katsina State.
The new KT-CARES Coordinator’s impressive career spans roles such as State Team Lead for Helen Keller International, Program Officer for various USAID-funded projects, and Project Coordinator for the Society for Women Development and Empowerment of Nigeria (SWODEN). His experience covers critical areas including maternal and child health, nutrition, malaria prevention, and community-driven development initiatives.
Mallam Musa’s notable achievements include successfully implementing advocacy strategies that influenced policy changes across multiple Nigerian states, securing investment from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for a rice processing project in Nigeria, and contributing to the extension of the Expanded Social Marketing Project in Nigeria (ESMPIN) by USAID.
With his diverse experience and numerous trainings both in Nigeria and abroad, Malam Musa is expected to bring valuable insights and strategic direction to the KT-CARES program. His expertise in project management, community engagement, and international development aligns perfectly with the program’s goals.
It is important to note, this appointment was earlier approved by the Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, before embarking on a one-month vacation.
This appointment reflects the Katsina State Government dedication to leveraging local talent with global exposure to drive sustainable development in Katsina State. It equally underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing community resilience and stimulating economic growth through capable leadership and expertise.
