President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Tuesday, submitted the Minimum Wage bill to the House of Representatives for review and approval.
The letter from President Tinubu, read aloud in the House of Representatives, proposes a new national minimum wage and outlines the legal framework necessary for its implementation, as agreed upon.
President Tinubu, in his letter, appealed to lawmakers to swiftly pass the minimum wage bill, enabling its prompt implementation and thereby ensuring that Nigerian workers can reap the benefits without delay.
Tinubu also requested an amendment to the Nigeria Police Act, in line with Section 58 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), seeking to revise the legislation governing the nation’s police force.
