Talks between Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) regarding the transfer of Victor Osimhen have reached a stalemate, raising fears that the deal might collapse.
PSG has been keen to sign the 25-year-old Nigerian striker, especially following Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Negotiations were facilitated by Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, who flew to Paris.
A call involving Napoli’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis and PSG’s president Nasser Al Khelaifi, along with sporting directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos, took place on Monday afternoon.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com and Fabrizio Romano, the discussions did not yield any progress.
PSG expressed that they were not willing to activate Osimhen’s €130 million release clause.
In response, Napoli proposed including Kang-In Lee as part of the deal, which PSG immediately rejected.
PSG then suggested including Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele in the exchange, but Napoli dismissed this idea.
The gap between the two clubs’ positions now poses a serious threat to the potential transfer, leaving Osimhen’s future at Napoli uncertain for the time being.
