FRSC to collaborate with Lagos, Ogun Govt’s on vehicle security

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Malam Shehu Mohammed, have teamed up to strengthen vehicle security in the state.

During a meeting at the Government House in Marina, Lagos, they agreed to collaborate on motor vehicle administration, focusing on eliminating fake number plates and enhancing revenue collection and data accuracy.

Speaking, FRSC boss said that the partnership aimed to boost intelligence gathering and national security, ensuring a safer Lagos.

Mohammed praised the governor for his support and empowerment of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), which he said had boosted the fight against road-related issues.

“This collaboration promises to significantly reduce the incidence of fake number plates and promote a safer and more secure environment in Lagos State.

“This joint effort will also help to revolutionise vehicle security in Lagos, making the state a model for others to follow.

“The partnership promises to restore sanity to Lagos roads and ensure a safer and more secure environment for citizens,”he said.

Responding, Sanwo-Olu said “with this positive development, commendable mileage will surely be achieved in the area of intelligence gathering and enhancement of national security.

In a related development, Ogun State Governor, Adedapo Abiodun reiterated his administration’s commitment to support the FRSC in its efforts to ensure road safety in the state.

Abiodun made the pledge during a visit by the FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, to the Government House in Abeokuta.

The governor commended the Corps’ efforts in reducing road crashes and thanked them for their dedication to saving lives.

Earlier, Mohammed commended Abiodun for his commitment to safety and sought collaboration to enhance road safety in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the visits highlights the commitment of the three parties to foster a collaborative approach in addressing critical issues and promoting public safety and security.

The visit also strengthens the partnership between the states government and the FRSC, aiming to reduce road accidents and ensure safer roads in Lagos and Ogun State respectively.
