The Rivers Assembly, led by Martin Amaewhule, has blocked Governor Siminalayi Fubara from spending state funds until he resubmits his budget to the lawmakers.
According to report, the lawmakers issued a seven-day deadline to Governor Fubara to resubmit his budget, which has now elapsed.
Rivers House Leader, Major Jack, introduced a motion to prompt the House to take action on the governor’s delayed budget presentation, which was originally due within the seven-day timeframe.
Following deliberations, the lawmakers decided to put a hold on the Rivers State Consolidated Revenue Account, effectively halting all spending by Governor Fubara’s administration.
