A once lively journalist, Hafsat Abdulhamid Adebayo now fights for her dear life at the ICU section of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) where she’s been admitted for weeks.
Hafsat is in dire need of a brain tumor surgery to save her life, her elder sister, Aishat Abdulhamid told colleague journalists who visited her at the hospital.
Mrs Adebayo has been sick for at least four years.
She had sought medical help at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) but her condition kept deteriorating, her sister who now wheels her around further told journalists.
“She has really suffered a lot. We have spent all our savings. Friends, family and colleagues have really tried to support us as well.
“She had a surgery last year with the intervention of the Bauchi State Government where the tumor was evacuated and was recovering at home.
“We are currently at the JUTH. We were told that she has to undergo another emergency surgery. As we speak, for more than a week, she cannot eat, talk and walk. The consultant told us that she will have the operation this week.
“We appeal to Nigerians to assist us, may God bless you.”
Our Correspondent gathered that Hafsat’s child has been affected the most by their mother’s sickness.
Hafsat is appealing for financial assistance from well meaning Nigerians to undergo an emergency brain tumor surgery.
