The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has confirmed Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano, as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
Hashimu Dungurawa, the Kano State chairman of the NNPP, made this announcement while engaging with journalists in an interactive session in Kano.
Dungurawa believes Kwankwaso is the only candidate in the party with the requisite skills and experience to successfully run for president and win.
“We believe Kwankwaso stands the best chance of becoming the next President,” he said.
The chairman seized the opportunity to denounce Ganduje’s treatment of retirees, accusing him of callously abandoning them to suffer in poverty and destitution.
Dungurawa accused Ganduje of illegally siphoning off over N5.4 billion from retirees’ pension funds during his eight years as governor.
In contrast, Dungurawa lauded the NNPP government’s impressive strides in education, agriculture, and employment, applauding Governor Abba Yusuf’s exemplary leadership.
