Nigerian-born Dr. Imafidon appointed youngest Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian Varsity

A Nigerian-born British computer scientist, Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon, has been appointed Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University, becoming the youngest person to hold the position.

The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, congratulated Dr. Imafidon on her appointment, describing it as well-deserved.

Dr. Imafidon, who was born in Nigeria and moved to the UK with her family at a young age, has achieved numerous records, including becoming the youngest person to attain A-Level in computing and mathematics and gaining a scholarship to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, at the age of 13.

She has been recognized for her work in promoting STEM education and inspiring young people, particularly girls, to pursue careers in science and technology.

Dr. Imafidon expressed her honor at being appointed to the position, stating that it is one of the greatest honors of her life.

Her installation as Chancellor will take place on July 2, and Dr. Dabiri-Erewa has been invited as a special guest.
