Ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, a member of House of Representative, Yusuf Gagdi, has donated 400 rams and N20 million to his constituents.
Gagdi who is representing the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in Plateau State, presented the donations in Dengi, a community within the Kanam Local Government Area.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Gagdi explained that his donation was intended to bring joy and relief to his constituents, especially the most vulnerable members of the community.
“It has been my tradition to distribute rams, food items and cash to my constituents during festive periods.
”The goal is to assist the less privileged members of my constituency to celebrate. It is a yearly ritual I have sustained since 2015.
”This year’s celebration came at a time when prices of foodstuffs and animals have skyrocketed, hence the need for me to intervene. The 400 rams and N20 million will assist,” he said.
The lawmaker called on his constituents to dedicate the festival to praying for peace and tranquility in Plateau State and the nation, while also promising to continue delivering effective representation and serving their best interests.
