Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo State and Senator representing Edo North, has declared that all members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state are automatically part of the campaign council.
During the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress campaign council on Friday, Adams Oshiomhole emphasized that every party member has a crucial role to play in achieving victory for Senator Monday Okpebholo, urging them to work collectively towards this goal
Inaugurating the council, Oshiomhole said, “I am saying here that every member and supporter of the APC is a member of the campaign for genuine change under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo.
“I am the chairman of the campaign council, but titles do not matter. I urge every member of the party in the state to work hard to win their units and wards. Every member is a canvasser,” he added
He also noted that if it required him to take the role of a sweeper, he was ready to sweep Okpebholo into office as governor.
On his part, the Director General of the Campaign Council, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, urged members to work hard as the task of defeating a government in power was huge.
He also urged party members to resolve their differences and work for the victory of the party and de-emphasize the role of money.
Earlier, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, State Chairman of the APC, said the late Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, Prof. Ambrose Alli and Adams Oshiomhole were governors who provided good governance for the state.
Oshiomhole expressed disappointment that Governor Godwin Obaseki did not continue his initiatives, leading to setbacks such as the flooding in Benin and the lack of red-roof schools, which were a signature project of his administration.
He assured that with the incoming administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa, the state’s glory days would be restored, and the projects that were halted would be revived. He expressed optimism that the campaign council, led by Senator Urhoghide, would put in the necessary effort to ensure a resounding victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
