Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has donated the sum of $100 to each of the 2,682 intending pilgrims from the state.
The governor made the donation during a farewell address to the intending pilgrims held at the Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Hajj Camp, Bauchi, and urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the state while in the Holy land.
He also urged them to pray for him, his government, the state and Nigeria for peace, harmony, and tranquillity to reign supreme, assuring that the state government has made all necessary arrangements for them led by the Amirul-Hajj, the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, supported by members of his team, preachers, guides, and medical personnel, among others, for a successful hajj.
Governor Bala added that the state government has made adequate arrangements in Saudi Arabia to make the pilgrims perform their religious obligations without any hindrance and reminded them to be grateful to Allah for having given them the opportunity to be among the pilgrims and prayed for it to be done in good health and
The governor also announced a subsequent additional sum of 300 riyals in the Holy Land to alleviate the financial constraints associated with the new Saudi Arabian financial regulations.
In a speech, the State Amirul-Hajj, Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, commended the governor for his confidence in him and his committee while reassuring the state of the successful Hajj exercise.
